Make Care Incredible Gathering
The Make Care Incredible Gathering will bring together leaders and researchers in the field of children’s residential care, lived experience leaders, and professionals with a shared interest in love led practice in children’s homes. It will inform and inspire you, connect you with others who can support you with this work, and provide a space to consider in depth some of the challenges, opportunities and ways through the systemic barriers, to bring about this vital change to the way we deliver care.
Event Summary
We know that to thrive, children need to feel secure in loving relationships. Yet as professionals we also feel that we aren’t supposed to love the children we work with, tell them we love them, or encourage them to get close to and love us. This must change if we want to improve children’s outcomes, and if we want many more of them to go on to live safe, happy, successful, and settled lives.
Children’s Homes Quality is part of a movement to bring love led practice into children’s homes. We are determined to support you to create the conditions where love can safely flourish between children and staff. Our evidence based Lovin’ Care approach has supported homes to radically change the way they work, releasing their staff and children’s potential to connect deeply and bloom. Early evaluations have shown how this approach has: improved staff morale and retention, decreased incidents which challenge staff, and improved children’s progress. The homes that have worked with CHQ to embed the Lovin’ Care approach have all been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted, who recognise the high value in children feeling loved, and the elevated quality of care given by adults who authentically know and love the children they look after. Coming soon.... the Children's Homes Leaders Conference 2024!
See below for information on the 2022 Conference.
This is the conference that informs, networks and celebrates Registered Managers, Responsible Individuals, owners and those who support their leadership.
Children’s homes leaders are privileged to care for some of our most vulnerable children and play a significant role in their development and achievements. There are big changes proposed for the children’s homes sector by the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care. Right now, throughout the changes and beyond, leaders need to be informed, inspired and innovative.
This event celebrated the excellent and unsung achievements of the majority of homes by launching the awards ceremony for Registered Manager of the Year, Responsible Individual of the Year and Regulation 44 Visitor of the Year.Who will you nominate in 2023?
