Registered Managers’ Training Day.

A day with Valerie Tulloch, face-to-face, in central London or with Rebecca Harrison in Manchester. A day to step back and look at your practice and role, gather fresh understanding of the regulatory responsibilities that underpin your practice and practical information to enhance your leadership. This is a sharing space for managers to learn from each other and a reflective space to consider your own personal development needs.

Responsible Individual Training Session. 

Are you a Responsible Individual for a Children's Home or planning to become one? Have you had training on what the role involves? This session will help you to understand the legal requirements related to the RI role, appreciate how to manage, support and learn from the inspection process, and will share best practice on effective practical systems to achieve your responsibilities. You will get a comprehensive overview of the role and lots of opportunities for discussion.

Registered Managers’ and Responsible Individuals’ Networks

A quarterly opportunity to meet with other Registered Managers or Responsible Individuals and have in-depth, facilitate discussions on areas of regulation and practice. These are reflective spaces to share thoughts and nourish yourself, as well as a learning spaces to explore developments, research, and good practice within the sector.
 
It is a regulatory requirement that ‘The registered manager must undertake such continuing professional development as is necessary to ensure that the registered manager has the skills needed for managing the home.’

 And that “.. the organisation must ensure that the responsible individual undertakes such continuing professional development as is necessary to ensure that the responsible individual has the skills needed for supervising the management of the home.” (Children’s Homes Regulations, Regulation 29 (4&2)) attending and contributing to the RM or RI Network will be an important part of your continuing professional development.
